Strengthening Relationships and Business Collaboration Between P&I Malaysia, Maritime Mutual and Government Agencies

A discussion was held between P&I Malaysia, Maritime Mutual, Malaysia Marine Department, and the Ministry of Transport Malaysia. The meeting was attended by Mr. JA Lister, Director of Maritime Mutual (MM), Mr. Tey Choon Wee, Managing Director of Far East P&I Services, representatives from Malaysia Marine Department and Ministry of Transport Malaysia.

The session focused on strengthening relationships and business collaboration between P&I Malaysia, the Marine Department, and Maritime Mutual. Mr. JA Lister delivered a presentation highlighting Maritime Mutual’s global presence, team structure, strategic direction, financial standing, claims management, and loss prevention efforts.

Key discussions included recent issues surrounding counterfeit blue cards and the introduction of a QR code system to verify the authenticity of documents. Mr. Lister advised that this new verification approach would be rolled out soon.

Malaysia Marine Department discussed the future of technological advancements in the maritime industry, emphasizing autonomous vessel navigation and the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Mr. Rudy, CEO of P&I Malaysia, extended his gratitude to all parties for their ongoing cooperation, which has contributed to a successful partnership over the years.

Satu sesi perbincangan telah diadakan antara P&I Malaysia, Maritime Mutual, Jabatan Laut Malaysia, dan Kementerian Pengangkutan Malaysia. Mesyuarat tersebut dihadiri oleh Encik JA Lister, Pengarah Maritime Mutual (MM), Encik Tey Choon Wee, Pengarah Urusan Far East P&I Services, serta wakil-wakil daripada pihak Jabatan Laut Malaysia dan Kementerian Pengangkutan Malaysia.

Sesi ini menumpukan kepada usaha memperkukuhkan hubungan dan kerjasama antara P&I Malaysia, Jabatan Laut Malaysia dan Maritime Mutual. Mr. JA Lister telah membentangkan perkara mengenai latar belakang global Maritime Mutual, struktur organisasi, hala tuju strategi, kedudukan kewangan, pengurusan tuntutan dan usaha pencegahan kerugian.

Perbincangan utama merangkumi isu terkini berkenaan polisi insurance “blue card” palsu dan pengenalan sistem kod QR untuk mengesahkan keaslian dokumen. Mr. Lister memaklumkan bahawa pendekatan pengesahan baharu ini akan diperkenalkan tidak lama lagi.

Jabatan Laut Malaysia pula menyentuh tentang kemajuan teknologi masa hadapan dalam industri maritim, dengan penekanan kepada navigasi kapal pengendalian automatik dan kesan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI).
