The 2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) began on 26th March 2019. The first 3 days were reserved for trade visitors while the next two days the doors were opened for the public. The program was held at two different venues primarily the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) showcasing its trademark air show and also the Resort World Langkawi flaunting the Maritime division ships as well as its Maritime demonstrations.
LIMA 2019 aims to gather top military officials and civil industry leaders along with international manufacturers and suppliers in one single event allowing expansion of network and sharing of expertise. The event was co-organised by the Ministry of Defense Malaysia, Ministry of Transport Malaysia and EN Projects.
LIMA 2019 was officiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and bear the presence of the Ministry of Transport, YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook the Defense Minister, YB Mohamad Sabu and the Youth and Sports Minister, YB Syed Saddiq.
P&I Malaysia’s booth was visited by YB Anthony and our own board member Dato’ Baharin, director of the Marine Department of Malaysia. Our team also had the chance to get familiar with other MOT agency members.
All in all, LIMA 2019 ended successfully and achieved the purpose of introducing P&I Malaysia in the eye of the world. We look forward to join LIMA again.
